What birds cannnot eat!! IMPORTANT!!

There are few foods that birds cannot eat! I only know a few so before you decide to feed your birds snacks make sure you do some research on other foods that they might not be able to eat.

> Avocados: These are a HUGE no-no, I do not believe that there is a single bird out there than can eat avocados, and im not sure why, but DON'T DO IT!!

> Chocolate: Like most animals, birds cannot have chocolate. Any type of chocolate, so if youre giving your birds treats, check the ingredients for these items I am listing!

> Honey: I am not sure if birds can have honey, but my cockatoo cannot, she would vomit when she ate it so i would stay away from it, as i have read it can cause botulism in birds, but i am not 100% positive on this one!

>Milk products need to be in moderation: Milk and dairy products if given too many, can cause your bird's crop to sour and that requires a vet visit to fix! These products include: ice cream, milk, yogurt, cheese, any product that has milk in it (mac n cheese, some rices etc.).

>Juice also needs to be in moderation: this is due to the amount of sugar in juice! This can cause your bird to gain excessive weight and that is never good!

>Caffeine: I am not sure on this one, but we do not give anything with caffeine to our birds! We do not want to risk it!

>Soda: we sometimes will give our birds some soda, without caffeine of course, and that is NOT diet soda (it contains aspartame which is an ingredient in rat poison... which my birds do not need in their bodies!) which this should also be in moderation due to sugar content!

most other foods are good as far as i know, if you have any more foods that i should add to this list just comment below!

**Again:: I am not a professional, these are only things i have learned from having birds and from observation! Consult a professional if you have more questions or problems with your bird's diet!***
