Recipe for a Happy bird!

Here is my recipe for a happy bird!

first: make sure their cage is large enough for a lot of movement and room for playing. If not they can become stressed out and pick their feathers.

second: if you have a larger bird make sure you buy a strong cage that has a lot of durability and cannot be easily destructed.

third: Lots of toys! make sure you have a variety of different toys. Try different textures, sizes, and varieties.

fourth: fresh water, fresh food every day! DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS. Fresh food is key at least three times a week. This can be fruits, vegetables, and even whatever youre having for dinner those nights.

fifth: lots of play time alone and with other humans. Birds play a little bit more aggressive than other animals but often can be sweet. Birds need a lot of time to play by themselves outside of their cages and with other people: this increases their dexterity, and patience with people.

sixth: formula. If you have young birds try to give them bird formula at least once a week, unless they are under two years old (if under two years old at least everyday but recommended twice a day).

seventh: LOVE YOUR BIRDS. Birds are expensive and take a lot of your time. If you cannot afford to treat your birds as well as you treat your kids or yourself, your birds will not be happy.

This list is based on my experience with birds and knowing that having rescue birds these things gain the trust of a traumatized bird faster than anything.

**** I am NOT a veterinarian, nor am I a bird expert! I just think this is best for the birds!******
